Genpack’s Bag Closures are now also used by Danish Poultry Farmers.
At Genpack we are aware of the fact that our bag closures can be used for a lot of purposes. But who would have thought they could be used to identify breeds of chicken?
One day a poultry farmer who told us that he uses our Twis-Ties for identification of his chickens in different colours according to which family they belong contacted us. The ribbon is twisted around the chicken’s leg and is loosened 3 – 4 times during the growing.
In his letter, the poultry farmer is writing: "Later in the summer, I have a whole poultry farm filled with wonderful hens each with their individual colour around the leg. In that way, I exactly know which cocks I shall ’team’ with which hens for next year’s breeding. My colleagues were quite surprised but are of the opinion that I have found a clever and price reasonable solution of the problem."
Genpack is passing on the good idea to other persons interested in breeds of hens. |
